Must Have Instant Pot Accessories
Having an Instant Pot is one of the best solutions to easy meal times. I share why I love my Instant pot here. An Instant Pot can save you time, money, and stress. But, to really get the most out of it these three things are must have Instant Pot accessories.
Instant Pot Mini Mitts
These little silicone mitts have been perfect for when I am using my Instant Pot to sauté. One small flaw of the Instant Pot is the bottom of the inner pot. It has a slight dome shape to it, so when you cooking anything with oil, all the oil pools around the outer edge of the inner pot. These silicone mitts are perfect to pick up the inner pot to tilt it and redistribute the oil as needed. They also make it easy to pick up the inner pot if the sauté heat is too high and things start to burn. You can simply pull the pot out to let the heating element cool down.
Instant Pot Tempered Glass Lid
The Instant Pot does it all; mine has 9 functions in total. One of those is a slow cooker. You may be wondering if this means you can get rid of your slow cooker – it all depends on what you like to cook. I still have a 7 quart slow cooker. Not only is it bigger, but it is also an oval shape versus round. That makes it easier to fit certain large cuts of meat like pork shoulder. When I want to make enough for left overs I like to have a generous portion of meat that doesn’t always fit in my Instant Pot. Also I haven’t adapted some of my favorite recipes to Instant Pot yet. But, I still have so many uses for my Instant Pot as a slow cooker. On several occasions I need two slow cookers and I’m glad I have both. I use two when I am heating soups for my annual New Year’s Eve soup supper. Or for winter parties where I need to heat multiple appetizers along with a slow cooker mulled wine cider. So, make sure to add this glass lid to your Instant Pot wish list!
Genuine Instant Pot Sealing Ring 2-Pack (red/blue)
One of the things I’m looking forward to trying as I get more adventurous is dessert in the Instant Pot! I know I’ll need a different sealing ring if I want to make something sweet. The reason having more than one sealing ring is helpful is that your sealing ring can retain some of the odor from foods you have cooked recently. You can deodorize your sealing ring, but that takes time and isn’t always a perfect fix. Nobody wants their cake to have a faint hint of beef flavor. Having a second sealing ring means you can cook dessert while you’re enjoying dinner. I recommend a red and blue instead of two clear, so you don’t forget which is for sweet and which is for savory.
